Frequently asked questions

TechLine operates in mechanical and plant engineering, special-purpose machinery, and industrial product development. Inquiries from other industries are technically reviewed and evaluated on a project-specific basis.

No. TechLine is a pure engineering and design firm with no in-house manufacturing. Our services include design engineering, technical calculations, and the preparation of technical documentation.

Upon request, we recommend suitable manufacturing partners or support the technical coordination with suppliers appointed by the client as part of our engineering services.

Yes. TechLine undertakes both complete development and design projects as well as clearly defined partial tasks. The type and scope of services are determined exclusively by the respective agreed proposal.

– Technical clarification of the project requirements
– Preparation of a proposal with a clearly defined scope of services
– Design and development in accordance with agreed approval stages
– Delivery of the agreed documentation
– Project completion following acceptance of the agreed services

The scope of services is defined in writing. Any changes or extensions are handled exclusively through amendments or supplementary agreements.

This ensures that technical and commercial risks are clearly managed and minimized for both parties.

Yes. Design and documentation are carried out in accordance with the applicable DIN, EN, and ISO standards, as well as recognized engineering best practices.

Customer-specific standards are taken into account, provided they are defined and agreed upon prior to the start of the project.

TechLine primarily works with Solid Edge. This ensures consistent designs, revision-controlled models, and technically unambiguous documentation.

No. CAD models as well as editable, open, or native CAD files are not part of the standard scope of services. The scope, formats, and usage rights are defined on a project-specific basis in the proposal or contract.

Technical documentation is generally delivered in electronic form as PDF files. Other file formats or delivery in hard copy are only included if explicitly agreed in writing and may be subject to additional charges.

Each project is unique. The required effort is determined by the specific technical requirements (specification sheet) and the agreed scope of services.

Proposals are prepared on a project-specific basis and are non-binding unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing. They are based on a clearly defined scope of services, a transparent project structure, and a realistic assessment of time and costs based on the available information, supported by thorough technical documentation.

Our services are generally billed on a time-and-materials basis. In individually agreed cases, billing by project phases or on a fixed-price basis is also possible.

The respective billing model and scope of services are defined in writing prior to the start of the project and specified in the proposal.

Billing is carried out in accordance with the respective proposal. As a rule, services are invoiced on a time-and-materials basis (hourly rates); for individually defined projects, milestone-based billing or a fixed-price arrangement may be agreed.

The billing method and payment terms are specified in the respective proposal or contract.

Yes. For an efficient project start, we recommend a structured initial phase. During this phase, objectives, boundary conditions, and the technical approach are defined.

This forms the basis for further project planning and proposal preparation. It does not constitute an entitlement to the execution of specific services.

The project start depends on the project scope, technical complexity, and our current capacity. One of our strengths is our short response time: in many cases, we can start at short notice.

A specific start date is defined in the respective proposal or contract.

Yes. Our team has extensive international experience and a strong network of reliable partners. This provides a solid foundation for the successful execution of even complex international projects.

Yes. Our team is specialized in handling smaller projects efficiently and flexibly. This allows our clients to benefit from short coordination paths and fast results, without compromising on technical quality.
